Journey To Freedom From Binge Eating!

Hello and welcome to the first step in your journey to freedom from binge eating!

My name is Mohamed and I also struggled with binge eating since the age of 12. I spent years afraid of food and how its affecting my body.

At my worst I was bingeing every night and waking up feeling like death. I would swear that I’m done with it only to return to it the same evening. This kind of losing battle with binge eating only caused me to lose confidence in myself and not take what I say seriously. If you would have told me back then that one day I would be free from bingeing I wouldn’t believe you.

I wish I could say it only changed overnight, it didn’t. It started with small shifts. These small shifts were life events that made me sick and tired of my life. For example, I would miss or skip work because I was too sick. I would not study for my exam in school because I would rather binge then sleep it off. I would gain weight rapidly and my face would get all swollen to a point where my friends would point it out.

My enough is enough moment came when I realized that I was severely in debt, in a constant state of anxiety and depression, obsessing about how I look, exhausted all the time, not able to present at all and hating the future.

From that moment onwards it was an uphill battle, a journey that took me to where I am today. Along the way I became a Dietitian, developed an interest in psychology and the science of behaviours and coached thousands of people from all walks of life (a lot of my clients are psychologists and healthcare professionals who struggle with binge eating).

My work taught me one thing, if you can overcome the one monster sucking your resources and energy, you can do amazing things. If you don’t, your life keeps getting worse until its too late.

Binge eating is the silent killer because unlike alcohol and drugs, you have to eat.

I designed Beyond The Binge to combine my expertise in disordered eating with the power of community and coaching.
